It is not possible without extra equipment bought such as an external battery charger. Not every phone battery has a charger that you can buy but many do. They typically run in the range of $20 – $30. But you could then charge your battery in your phone and have a spare charged and ready to go.
The option of the charging mats may work as well.

In order to charge a cell phone battery, it must be inside the phone, or on those new pads that charge manifold things at once.. But yes, as long as it’s the same type of battery you can place it in your phone. Sometimes when you do that, the settings are changed, it depends on what arrangement you have even if.. It doesn’t permanently change.
